Course overview

Come and study the German language, the language of composers such as Bach, Beethoven, and Mozart and writers such as Schiller and Goethe. Not only will you learn the language, but you will also gain insight into the culture and society of Germany. A knowledge of German will also enhance your travel experiences in Germany and other German-speaking countries.

In this course we will learn the basics of the German language, the German alphabet, basic rules of pronunciation and how sentences are constructed and use this knowledge to ask questions and reply.  The course is designed to be both educational and enjoyable.

This is a beginners course for those with no or little prior knowledge of the German language.

If after this term you would like to continue as group (minimum of 6 learners) onto the following term in September 2025 please make the tutor aware so we can make the necessary arrangements for next term in advance.

Enrolment End Date: Please note that the enrolment for this course closes 3 working days before the start of the course. Unfortunately, it is not possible to process late enrolments after that point. Refreshments are available from the vending machines on the campus which include both hot and cold drinks.
