This course aims to help learners and Health & Social Care professionals to develop their skills and knowledge around Infection prevention and control. This single-unit qualification is designed to find out how infection spreads and ways to prevent and control infection
This is a 1-day course, 09:30-15:30, face-to-face with an online assessment to be completed remotely.
Completion of this course comes with an accredited qualification and certificate recognised in industry.
Course content/units
- Know about the spread of infection
- Know how health and social care or children’s and young people’s settings prevent and control infections
- Know how personal hygiene contributes to infection prevention and control in health and social care or children’s and young people’s settings
- Learners should demonstrate their knowledge of routines and practices to support infection prevention and control
- Understand how to reduce the risk of infection in health and social care or children’s and young people’s settings
- Be able to encourage staff and clients/children in health and social care or children’s and young people’s settings to adopt practices that reduce the risk of infection
Assessment will include components of practicals in our state-of-the-art Health Science campus, as well as an online suite of assessments to which you will have access.
